It was fantastic! It was great to see so many parents come in to share the children’s work. The task seems to be easy yet it was quite complex. The children learned so many things apart from how forces work on bridges. Myself I was pleased to see the end of bridges and begin something new. We also planted some new plants in the rainforest – thanks to the generous donations and the work of Adrian, Terri and Graham – the weeds are gone!!
This term we are doing a unit on food – looking at the digestive system and healthy eating, and kitchen chemistry. Alongside this we will be doing a unit on mapping. Busy times until the end of the year.

Just when we got such positive feedback for the blog (thanks so much to those people who completed feedback – would still appreciate outstanding forms). Now the edublog site has gone and changed its setup & I cannot yet work out how to attach documents etc – so be patient & most likely no homework on the site for this week.

Welcome to the amazing world of bridges!! To get you started check this one out, The Millau Bridge in France. is the worlds highest and longest cable-stayed bridge. It connects France to Spain. It is 2460m long and is one of the most impressive feats of engineering ever. It would be amazing yet slightly scary to go over – see what you think!

Well our plant unit has kicked off to a great start. Do you think that plants may exist on other unknown planets in space?? I wonder what they would look like! Check out this national geographic website if you are interested in the possibility of alien plants!!

What is art?
In class this week we have heard about a great variety of artists.
Grade 4, what makes good art and what is the point of doing art in school? Why are people like da Vinci still famous today for their art?
Is today’s art (such as abstract art) as good as the early masters? Should we spend money on art? What do you think?
